Ductus

Ductus is a Latin word derived from ducere (to draw, lead, direct). It means the action to bring, direct, trace (in particular letters).

In Penmanship, the ductus is the order and the direction according to which one traces the features which compose the letter. The ductus is thus one of the principal elements of penmanship.
