Ducati 900 S

The 900 S or 900 Supersport is a model of sporting motor bike builds by Ducati.

The 900 S is born in 1975, to shoulder the 750 S in the sporting range Ducati. It remains with the catalog until end 1982.

It takes again the engine of the 860 WP, its distribution by conical couple and its characteristic square casings. The Gear box is also from the same machine.

As opposed to what it is currently done, the selector is with the right foot, while the back brake pedals migrated on the left. But this provision posed a problem of size. During starting, if the kick went down too low, it engaged the first speed, advancing the motor bike.

The saddle was single-seat, but an option made it possible to have a model making it possible to place a possible passenger.

In 1976, the homologation in certain countries obliges Ducati to re-examine its copy. The orders of selection and back brake pass respectively to the right foot and the left foot. The production of the 900 S stops with the end of the year 1982. Its replacing will leave only in 1989.
