Dubreuil Marie-France

Marie-France Dubreuil (August 11th 1974 with Montreal -) is a artistic skater Québécois. She and her partner Patrice Lauzon are the Canadian champions in dance on ice in 2000, then in 2004,2005 and 2006. They patinate together since 1995.

The couple of dance is famous for the great technical difficulty of its program, especially of its ranges.

Biography

With their first Olympic Games in Salt Lake City in 2002, they patinate on the music of Mrs Butterfly for their free dance. At the beginning of their program, a problem on the level of the costume makes so that the skaters must take again their routine. They finish 12th with compound.

In their second participation in the Winter Olympics of 2006 in Turin, the couple is reproduced on the list of the favorites to gain a medal, hope which disappears at the time of the original dance, because the two skaters fall on the last range, which results in a major contusion with the right hip from Marie-France. They declare fixed price before the test of the free dance.

Nevertheless, the couple marked the history of the Canadian and world figure skating. Sometimes, one compared their style to the dancers Duchesnay.
