DualShock
DualShock is a range of Joystick official of the consoles PlayStation. Its name refers to the presence of double engines Solénoïde S, which make it possible to generate vibrations in the controller. It includes/understands three models: DualShock (1997), DualShock 2 (2000) and Dual Shock 3 (2007), which correspond to the three generations of consoles of Sony.
History
The first model of DualShock was launched in November 1997 with the Japan and the Printemps 1998 in North America and Europe. Intended for the PlayStation, it succeeds the standard model (1994) and the Dual Analog Controller (April 1997 ). The DualShock 2 appeared in 2000, at the same time as the PlayStation 2. DualShock 3 appeared in 2007 (in Japan) and functions with the PlayStation 3.
Functionalities
The lever includes/understands:- 1 directional Cross
- 2 analogical sticks
- 4 principal buttons in frontage (cross, round, square, triangle)
- 3 additional buttons in frontage (Start, Select, Analog)
- 4 buttons on the section (L 1, R 1, L 2, R 2)
- 2 buttons under the analogical joysticks (L 3, R 3)
DualShock
One of the first plays to benefit from the capacities of vibrations of DualShock is Gran Turismo (1997). The lever is compatible with PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 (via an adapter).
DualShock 2
DualSchock 2 appeared in March 2000 with the PlayStation 2. It constitutes an evolution of DualShock of which it takes again general ergonomics. Its analogical sticks and its buttons propose more important degrees of sensitivity. It is also lighter and was initially proposed in the black color. The lever is compatible with PlayStation 3 (via an adapter).
DualShock 3
DualShock 3, intended for PlayStation 3, inherits all the functionalities brought by the model Sixaxis (2006), in particular the recognition of movement, and implements in more the vibrations.
