Drusen

Drusen or Druzes, German word Drüsen (glands, glandules) are deposits of amorphous material in the Rétine located in the cuticular layer of the Membrane of Bruch in contact with the pigmented epithelium. They are the factor principal of the appearance of néo-vessels.
One distinguishes several forms from drusen. Most frequent are the milliary drusen of less 63µm of diameter, with edges Nets, of color blances yellowish, visible in a Fond of eye. These deposits are very frequent and related to ageing.
The fusion of cluster is called serious drusen. If these clusters are numerous the risk of neovascularization increases.
