They express their passion of the rock'n'roll fully there, feeling however that they miss a charismatic leader. Dave Williams, accustomed scene rock'n'roll texane, seems very indicated. The singer is integrated perfectly and quickly into the group which takes a new dimension then. The name of the four-bit byte, Drowning Pool , refers to film of the same name, carried out by Paul Newman in 1975. Their first demonstration lands in the hands of the group Sevendust, which invites the quartet to follow it in round. The meetings and the concerts are connected, Kittie, Hed EP, without no contract being signed. Known on all the American continent, they record one second demonstration, which cases in the radios and which enables them to sign at Wind-Up Records. Under the aegis of their producer Jay Baumgardner, Drowning Pool leaves their first album Sinner at the beginning of 2002. They will take part in many festivals such as the Ozzfest of Ozzy Osbourne, or the Music ace has Weapon Tour Disturbed

During their round of the Ozzfest 2002, in the intoxication of this incipient notoriety, a drama occurred; the singer Dave Williams died out in the middle of the night, in the bus of round. The cause of death would seem to be a heart failure by no means related to the unspecified catch of narcotics. In spite of the shock, the group all the same decided to continue together.

After one period of mourning and a radio silence of 2ans, late the star will be replaced by Jason Jones, whose voice was also interesting but without being as particular as that of Williams . They will leave the album Desensitized to the court the year 2004. This last was of quality but he did not gain the success of Sinner, the absence of regretted Williams cruelly being felt.

A few months after the exit of their second album, the June 14th 2005, the group announced the departure of Jason Jones, for " differences irréconciliables". The reason exact were not clearly communicated, but were speculated troubles of women, money and ego.

A new period of silence followed this departure. The group then announced on its Internet site the identity of its new singer. It is about McCombs . Their new album with McCombs with the microphone is planned, if all is well, for the end of 2006 or the beginning of 2007.
