The drongo of Mayotte ( Dicrurus waldenii ) is a bird of the family of the corvidés in the phylogeny of Sibley and Monroe, but traditionally classified in that of the dicruridés .
Il is endemic of Mayotte, French community of overseas located in the archipelago of the the Comoros.

Distribution

Restricted exclusively in the islands of Mayotte.

Habitat

Confined with the edges of the forests sempervirentes and the thickets and plantations, with the top of the Level line of the 200 Mr.

Statute

As for much of species, its habitat is declining, mainly because of the extension of the cultures and the practice of the Brûlis. One estimates the totality of the world population of this species at 100 to 150 couples between August 2000 and September 2003.
