Driving brake
The driving brake is a phenomenon present in the engine spark-ignition . As opposed to what its name could make believe, the driving brake is a brake which does not have any physical existence.
Principle
It is about a phenomenon which makes that, the engine spark-ignition being also compressing S, when the gases are closed, the Compression which takes place in the Combustion chamber can provide a significant braking. The diesel engine , because of their fort Ratio compression, have a strong driving brake, whereas the driving at two times are almost deprived by it.
Out of driving brake, the system of injection stops the food while carburizing what makes it economic.
The vehicles with automatic Transmission have a driving brake well (their engine is not basically different from the others), but this one is not transmitted to the wheels, because the torque converter is designed to transmit the forces only in one direction. The recent torque converters are equipped with a clutch of bridging which makes it possible to connect the transmission to the engine and thus to transmit the driving brake to the wheels.
Use
The driving brake is useful primarily in the descents, where it avoids a too extremely heating brakes.
