Drinking

A drinking is a consistent religious ritual in the presentation of a drink in offering with a god. This ritual was very practiced in the religions of the Antiquité, in particular the Judaïsme.

"And Jacob drew up a monument in the place where God had spoken to him, a stone monument, on which it made a drinking and poured huile" . (Genesis, 35.14)

The liquids offered in drinkings were varied. Generally Wine, Milk or Olive oil.

The old Greek texts often mention drinking ( spondè ) accompanied by a prayer or a wish.

In its Letter with the Romans, Ignace d' Antioche compares the martyr of the Christians with a drinking.

In the American culture hip-hop, the drinking consists in pouring an minor amount of malt liquor, or another alcohol, on the ground. This in homage to buried comrades (" dead homies") or in prison, or simply to devote a new company.
