Drink

A drink or beverage (qc) is a Liquide Nutritif, that one thus drinks initially to be refreshed, i.e. to alleviate the Soif, but often also for the pleasure. The term is often used in a more restricted direction of Alcoholic drink, which is its direction first and which it preserved in expressions such as “taken drink”, or “bar”.

The most natural drink is the Eau, the only one which drink the animals (with milk at the Mammifère S) and the only one which seals really thirst. Water is also the essential component of the majority of other drinks.

The first drink that the human beings drink (as all the mammals) is the maternal Lait (sometimes replaced by cow's milk), at the time of the Allaitement and until the weaning.

Origin of drinks

  • water is a drink of origin Minéral E.

  • milk and the lacteous drinks, are of origin Animal E, as well as the Hydromel, manufactured starting from the Miel. In certain cultures, the Sang of animals (pure, mingled with milk or other drinks) is also used as drink.
  • All the other drinks are of origin Végétal E. They are manufactured starting from the Fruit S, of the Graine S, the Feuille S, the bark, the Sève, various Espèce S of Plante S. It are produced by various processes: Pressure, Centrifugation, Percolation, Leaching, Infusion, Decoction, Maceration, Fermentation, Distillation, Mixture…

Composition and consumption of drinks

Water, the first drink, is a liquid which does not bring any nutritive element, and any energy contents does not have. It can however contain rock salt. The other drinks can bring moreover Calorie S in the form of Sucre, of alcohol…, the Protéine S, the fat contents.

To note: all the food liquids are not regarded as drinks, some are Aliment S, such as the Huile S and the Vinaigre, which are used in Cuisine, the bubble S, the Soupe S and Potage S… Certain drinks, very rich like the Chocolate, are at the border between drink and food. Others are in extreme cases of the Médicament, in particular among infusions. Some Plante S which are used to prepare them are classified among the medicinal plants. The drinks are generally drunk in Verre S, sometimes in bowl S, or in all kinds of Récipient S also being used for their conditioning: Bottle S, quill S, gourd S, Flask S… It are caught is with Table during the Repas, of which they can constitute the essential component (like the coffee or Café with milk in the Petit-déjeuner), either before (Apéritif S) or after (Digestif S) the meals, or between the Repas (soft drinks, coffee, the, tonics, justifying particular moments of pause, like the coffee break, to taste it, the tea station-wagon Britanniques.

Certain drinks consume hot, other cold, the even fresh ones or “struck”. The Température of consumption is an important component in particular for the Vin S.
