Drilling machine
A drilling machine is a machine which is used for to bore holes in all kinds of materials.
One speaks about Chignole or crankshaft to indicate a hand drill. Today, the near total of the drilling machines are been driven by engines electric S or tires. One distinguishes the portable drilling machines and the machine tools used in the workshops from machining, like the Perforateur S.
The drill press
A drill press is a drilling machine of Atelier fixed on a frame or a bench. It allows precise and important drillings (diameters being able to go to 20 or 30 millimetres in ordinary steel). The electrical motor, of a few hundreds of Watt S, makes turn a pin via a gear box (often with belts). The chuck (or the taper shank drill) is fixed at the end of this pin which can slide vertically when the operator operates a wheel or a lever. The part to be bored is firmly maintained in a vice fixed itself on a table sliding along the column supporting the engine.
The radial drilling machine
It is a machine tool similar to a machine with column but whose pin is assembled on a sliding carriage along an arm which can swivel with the column like axis.It can be provided with a swivelling head making it possible to bore according to nonvertical axes.
On this type of machine can be realized also Lamage S and Alésage S. For the many operations requiring a high degree of accuracy of the holes being in more varied positions one prefers the Aléseuse or the Aléseuse-fraiseuse to him.
The magnetic drilling machine
It is a machine made up of a body of traditional drilling machine and a magnetic base plate (electromagnet) which makes it possible to fix the latter on the parts that one must bore. It is used mainly in Metal frame. This machine can work with traditional drills equipped with an adapter and a chuck. But it is envisaged of origin to function with strawberry (standard Trépan). This machine must always be used with a Security chain in order to avoid the falls in the event of power cut.
