Dreux de Vexin

Dreux or Drogon de Vexin , born towards 990 - 1000, died in 1035, was count de Vexin and of Amiens of 1024 with 1035. It was wire of Gautier II the White, count de Vexin, of Amiens and of Valois and Adele.

With died of his father, in order to preserve the inheritance family, it divided the counties with his brother Raoul III. Dreux accepted Vexin and Amiens and remained faithful to the capétien, while Raoul had Valois and approached the count de Blois, become count de Troyes and of Meaux. The third brother, Foulque, were already bishop of Amiens.

In addition to alliance capétienne, Dreux maintains good relationships with Normandy, with the image of its predecessors. The children of Ethelred II and Emma of Normandy being taken refuge in Rouen, and to reinforce an alliance with Normandy, Dreux married in 1013 Godjifu, girl of Ethelred and Emma. They had:

  • Gautier III († 1063), count de Vexin, of Amiens and Maine
  • Foulques II († 1058), bishop of Amiens
