DreamWorks SKG

DreamWorks SKG is a production company and of American distribution specialized in the televised cinema, music and programs.

The company was created in October 1994 by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg (the former head of Walt Disney Feature Animation) and David Geffen (the founder of Geffen Records).

Spielberg, Katzenberg and Geffen did not manage to create the large multi-media studio of which they dreamed, the music activities and television of DreamWorks having only seldom met discounted success. On the other hand, the branch cinema of the studio is particularly active. Among his productions, one can quote Fourmiz , Gladiator , Shrek , Gang of sharks , Shrek 2 , Madagascar , Madagascar 2 and all the films of Spielberg since Amistad .

DreamWorks installed its studios with Glendale just beside the studios of ABC to Los Angeles and of the campus of Walt Disney Imagineering.

The December 11th 2005, Paramount Pictures repurchased DreamWorks SKG for 1,6 billion dollar.
