Drawing eXchange Format

DXF , Sigle of D rawing e' X' changes F ormat, is a format created by the company Autodesk being used to exchange files CAD or CAD between systems CAD not using the same format of native file. It was conceived in the beginning to represent the models 3D created with AutoCAD ®.

Files DXF can be of ASCII format (DXF) or binary (DXB).

DXF is a format of file used for the transfer of information of the vector type. It contains information for the visualization of the graphic data and is supported by almost all the graphic softwares. There are many methods to record the data of the attributes of the graphic objects by format DXF and also to bind objects DXF to external attributes. Almost all the software sig, CAD and graphs can successfully import this format because of the standards.
