Drakkar Entertainment

Drakkar Entertainment GMBH , also called Drakkar Records or Drakkar Publishing , is a German label , based with Witten. Specialized in the metal, it forms a Joint venture with Bertelsmann Music Group.

History

Drakkar Entertainment was founded in 1986 by Bogdan Kopec, under the name Kopec Music Publishing /. With the beginning, it was occupied only of edition, but by changing its name into " Drakkar Promotion" in 1986, it extended its services to management, search for concert and the Merchandizing.

The label signed groups of German metal like: Coroner, Raven, Running Wild, and Sodom.

In 1992, the company is combined with Bertelsmann Music Group to become " DRAKKAR Promotion Musikverlag GmbH".

A second company is created at the same time, " G.U.N. GmbH" records;. In front of the growing success of the latter, Kopec feels quickly exceeded, and decides to sell its shares to BMG. It gives up the merchandizing, the concerts, and the commercial one of " Drakkar Promotion" , and " founds; Drakkar Records". Its company of origin becomes " Drakkar Entertainment GmbH".

Drakkar Entertainment has four divisions now:

  • Drakkar Classic , a publishing label of the rock'n'roll and the metal accompanied by orchestras.
  • Drakkar Records , the label of metal.
  • e-Wave Records , the label of Electronic music.
  • Edition Drakkar , the publisher.
