Dragon Balls
In the Manga and Animates Japan board Dragon Ball , the Dragon Balls (in English : balls of the Dragon ) is called crystal balls in the version animates French, and are seven, which have a magic capacity when they are joined together.
Description
The Dragon Balls are small spheres which can hold in a hand, of orange color and which have each one a number of stars, energy of one at Sept. They were created a long time before the beginning of the history by Kami-sama, to bring the hope to humanity. Mr. Popo has in fact creates the Shenron dragon via a miniature model and Kami-sama insufflated the life and its power to him.
One speaks about a swell with female, but of a Dragon Ball with the masculine. Each Dragon Ball bears a name drawn from Chinese, who means " literally; swell étoilée" followed number of stars which corresponds. However, the Chinese transcription being too difficult to pronounce, it is the Japanese transcription of these names which was preserved: thus, famous Dragon so expensive Ball with four stars in Its Gokû bears the name of Sû Shinchû, drawn from the Chinese transcription " If Xing Qiu" (" swell spangled 4"). To note that the names of the Dragon Balls were omitted French version of the televised series and old editions manga. Only the current edition always in the course of publication, whose translation was re-examined and corrected, retranscribed for the first time the balls by their name.
- 1 star: I Shinchû
- 2 stars: Aru Shinchû
- 3 stars: San Shinchû
- 4 stars: Sû Shinchû

The Dragon Balls shine slightly and emit weak electric waves, which has permi with Bulma to design a radar especially designed to detect them and locate themselves compared to them: the Dragon Radar, thus baptized by the young girl itself, and which is the expression used thereafter by all the characters to define this special radar.
Shenron, God of the Dragons
When a person manages to gather all the Dragon Balls dispersed throughout the world in the same point and pronounces the correct formula, Shenron, God of the Dragon, appears. This one is then able to carry out only one and single wish of that which called upon it.
Although its capacity seems unlimited at the beginning of the history, the heroes learn later that it is not the case, and that there exist several constraints:
- a person can be ressuscitée only one and single time, and provided that its death is not natural cause.
- Shenron cannot exaucer of wish which exceeds the limits of the power of Kami-sama, the creator of the Dragon Balls. It cannot eliminate the enemies surpuissants for example, since Kami-sama would not be able itself.
- Shenron is not invincible and once it is materialized, one can kill it: Piccolo Daimaô will not be deprived to do it, in which case the Dragon Balls become unusable définivement.
- If ever the creator of the Dragon Balls has suddenly died where not to exist more in itself (case of Kami-sama after its fusion with Piccolo), that will have the same effect as if Shenron had died: the balls become unusable.
When Shenron exaucé the wish of the person who succeeded in calling upon it, it disappears and the Dragon Balls disperse again throughout the world. They are transformed then into simple stones without particular capacity throughout one one year.
During the history, Shenron is made kill by Piccolo Daimaô after having exaucé the wish of this last, which signs a priori the final extinction of the capacity of the Dragon Balls, transformed forever into stones. But exceptionally, Kami-sama agrees to reiterate its last act: Mr. Popo repairs the model of Shenron and Kami-sama insufflates the life to him. It acknowledges whereas it was disappointed by the behavior which the Dragon Balls in the majority of the human ones inspires, which often make use of it in their personal interest rather than for right causes, but that if there exists this would be only one handle of people like His Gokû and its friends which make use of it for creditable intentions, that is enough to convince it to continue to make perdurer the magic of the Dragon Balls. He also warns Gokû that it is the first and last time that he helps it, implying that if Shenron again had been suddenly made kill, he does not rescussiterait it. However, this unfortunate event fortunately never reproduces.
Polunga, the dragon of Namek
Thereafter, Its Gokû and its friends learn that Kami-sama and Piccolo are in fact originating in the Planet Namek, and that on this planet exist other Dragon Balls, like another crowned Dragon, Polunga.
When Krilin, Its Gohan and Bulma arrive on Namek, they discover Dragon Balls much larger than those which existed on Ground, at least of the size of a balloon of foot. At the beginning filled with enthusiasm with the idea that this dragon can exaucer three wishes, they learn quickly that results in a power divided for each wish: thus, it is for example impossible of ressusciter more than one person at the same time. The differences between Polunga and Shenron thus have at the same time advantages and disadvantages with which it is necessary to know to play.
Shenron, new version
When Piccolo amalgamates with Kami-sama, the Dragon Balls are decontaminated and are transformed into simple stones in a final way a priori, since their original creator does not exist any more in oneself. However, during the saga of Concealment, Its Gokû leaves to seek Dendé which becomes new Kami-sama. This last recreates Shenron and at the request of the heroes, halfway creates a new version of Shenron between old Shenron and Polunga: two wishes with exaucer and no constraint requiring ressusciter that only one person at the same time, which represents the best possible compromise and probably the most useful version of the Dragon crowned at this time of the history.
The Dragon Balls in the saga of Boo
In the saga of Boo, Kaiô Shin ancestral released from Z-Sword learns to the heroes that the Dragon Balls were not supposed to arrive on Earth and that they were initially intended only to the Namek people (from which Piccolo and Kami-sama result, were exiled on Earth when they were still children and formed one being) for rare and strictly limited uses to their people, explaining why the Dragon Balls bring chaos in the natural balance of the universe.
Polunga, the dragon of Namek, holds a key role at the end of the history, allowing the victory of the heroes. The new Big boss has recreates Dragon more powerful Balls which not only are capable of exaucer three wishes but any more limits on the level of the number of people ressuscitées in only one wish do not have, which thus represents the Dragon the most powerful Balls.
Beyond the manga: Dragon Ball WP
In the televised series Dragon Ball WP which make following the manga but do not form part of the original history by Akira Toriyama, the Dragon Balls are turned over against the heroes for their ultimate adventure. Overloaded negative energy accumulated following the wishes at the same time too many (the Dragon Balls being supposed to be useful only once per century) and too positive of the heroes with the passing of years, seven dragons malefic, corresponding to the seven Dragon Balls, are distributed in the world and menancent to destroy it as a punishment.
These seven dragons bear the names of the Dragon Balls, except the concept " Shinchû" (Japanese transcription of Chinese " swell étoilée") who is replaced by the concept " Shenron".
- I Shinron
- Ryan Shinron
- San Shinron
- Suu Shinron|Sû Shinron
- U Shinron

Two more important are Sû Shinron (which becomes an ally of Gokû, which is all the more symbolic system which it is resulting from Sû Shinchû, the Dragon so expensive Ball in the middle of Gokû) and I Shinron (sometimes transcribed " Li Shenron" , which does not correspond to the manga since " Li" is the Chinese transcription of origin whereas the Japanese transcription " Î" was retained for the ball with a star).
After having overcome all the dragons malefic, Shenron appears of itself to announce the confiscation of the Dragon Balls of the Earth: in reprimand of their abusive use, the land ones will have to prove that they can manage without having with exaucer wishes and if they make a success of this test, the balls to them will again be allotted a day. Shenron sets out again with the seven Dragon Balls and also carries Its Gokû with him.
