Drago Malefoy

Drago Malefoy (in English: Draco Malfoy ) is a character of the saga Harry Potter, written by the writer J.K. Rowling.

Wire of a Mangemort (in favor of the Black Magus Voldemort), he is the principal enemy of the hero at the school of magic of Poudlard, and a figurehead of the rival house, Serpentard.

Family and personality

Drago Malefoy (Draco Malfoy in VO) was born on June 5th, 1980 and is the only son of Lucius Malefoy and Narcissa Malefoy (born Black) and single heir to the Malefoy family. He is thus a relative distant from Sirius Black and a cousin distant from Ron Weasley (cf Harry Potter and the Order of the phoenix).

Drago Malefoy is pupil of Poudlard, in the house of Serpentard, he will become prefect thereafter. He speaks about a trailing voice, has the hair of fair almost white (characteristic of the Malefoy family), a very pale dye, the gray eyes metal and a nose at a peak. He resembles his father much, as well physically as mentally. He has a owl Large-Duke. He is very pretentious and makes fun of any person not being of his opinion or his condition. He is convinced of the superiority of the Blood-pure wizard of and dedicates a great admiration with his father. He enormously respects the precepts which inculcated to him its family, that is to say amongst other things, hatred towards the people being of " blood-mélé" , of ascent " moldue" , or not having magic capacities.

His/her father had planned to send it to Durmstrang, but his/her mother insisted that it goes to Poudlard.

Drago incarnates the " perfect small serpentard" , malignant, to see crafty one very, it is also rather loose. It uses of very to arrive at its ends, at least that does not disturb it to turn to its advantage a relatively benign wound. When a hippogriffe lacerated the arm slightly to him, by its fault, in autumn 1993, it used this incident like excuses to miss one week of course, forcing other pupils to make his work for him and avoiding him playing a match of Quidditch whereas time was not favorable (<--point of view shown by the pupils of Gryffondor). That as enabled him to carry felt sorry for against Hagrid, the professor of care to the magic creatures, as Drago has hated for its first year.

He is the worst enemy of Harry in Poudlard but also his first " rival". He hates Harry because of his celebrity and his talents in particular. It is the first pupil whom Harry met (at Mrs Guipure, with the Short cut), on July 31st, 1991. A little later, after Drago made a désobligeante remark towards Ronald Weasley, Harry gave Malefoy to its place while not wanting to tighten the hand to him.

It does not have more sympathy to Ron Weasley which, not only is not resulting from an affluent family but also, according to the Malefoy, a " family; traitor in his Sang" because magnet and protecting the Moldu S. Weasley being, in addition, very close to Harry.

Hermione Granger does not find either thanks to its eyes, being as it pejoratively calls it, a Blood-with-bourbe, i.e. to be witch born parents moldus.

The two best friends of Malfoy are Vincent Crabbe and Grégory Goyle, two big bullies animals and malicious, whose parents are, like those of Malefoy, of the Mangemorts.

Drago became Attrapeur of the team of Quidditch of Serpentard in Harry Potter and the room of the secrecies, following a generous gift of his/her father.

He became prefect for Serpentard in his fifth year and belonged to the Inquisitorial Brigade of Ombrage, in Harry Potter and the Order of the phoenix.

Role and evolution in Harry Potter and the Prince of Sang-Mêlé

In the sixth volume, Voldemort affixes the mark of Darkness on Drago and a mission gives to him: to kill Dumbledore. It however has many difficulties of being solved there and erects scaffolding of many strategies, of which that of " the Cupboard with Disparaître" who is being very clever but which has to him took a considerable time. It is also discovered that it has predispositions to the Occlumencie, and that it becomes a very good occlumens (closing its spirit with Severus Rogue itself), it learned that from Bellatrix Lestrange. However he did not manage to achieve his mission until the end, kind Severus Rogue to hold the made promise with Narcissa Malefoy under the Inviolable Serment, to achieve his task if he would fail, thus killing Dumbledore. Both fled then, escaping the members from the Ordre from the phoenix. During the year, one notes an evolution in the thoughts of Harry towards his némésis, which it subjects to the magic spell wandering Sectusempra: he will discover perhaps that under the small pretentious and arrogant aristocrat another person hid.

In Harry Potter and Relics of Dead the

In Harry Potter and the Relics of Dead the , last tome cheese of the series, the pride of Drago and its father appears singularly folded back: in semi-disgrace near Voldemort, frightened, they hardly any more have of active role and show less zeal to help the Lord of Darkness. When the Mangemorts capture Harry, Ron and Hermione and bring them to the manor Malefoy (of which their Master made his general headquarter); Drago claims not to recognize them. It is made disarm and take its magic wand by Harry. He is however recalled by Voldemort for the Battle of Poudlard and will give the responsability himself to make obstacle with Harry while this one seeks Horcruxe Diadème in the Room on Request. He will be made help in his task by his two substitutes Crabbe and Goyle. It is besides at this time that Crabbe revolts and refuses to obey Malefoy, releasing from Feudeymon. Harry will forget its hostilities and will save the life to him. Malefoy will try to recover from the side of Mangemorts, but Mangemort to which he spoke it does not believe. Harry thus Re-will save the life once again to him.

Very anxious for his/her son remained in Poudlard besieged, Lucius Malefoy, obviously in distress, in vain beseeches Voldemort to let it go to seek it. When the Lord of Ténères uses the Avada Kedavra against Harry, it charges Narcissa Malefoy with examining its body to make sure that it died well. It uses this occasion to be able to go to seek her son, and it does not hesitate to lie, in order to be able to turn over to Poudlard with the seemingly victorious camp. By claiming that Harry is deceased, it objectively helps the young wizard and his camp to mislead Voldemort and to gain the final battle. During this one, Harry reveals in Voldemort that the true Master of the rod of Elder tree is Drago, which disarmed Dumbledore at the end of volume VI, and consequently itself, which disarmed Drago during volume VII.

Drago and its parents assist of dumb spectators with the final victory against Voldemort and the rejoicings which follow in the large hall of Poudlard. They do not seem any more to think that with their meeting again and the ones against the others are tightened, in a corner of the room. Nobody any more is interested then in them.

In the Epilog, Drago is present 19 years later on the quay of Kings' Cross at the beginning of Poudlard Express, with his/her son Scorpius and his wife, not named. The short sign of head that he addresses by far to Harry lets suspect, if not a friendship, at least a correct relation between the two former enemies.
