By district

The Hauts-de-Seine are composed of three districts:

The following list gives for each one of common the sound zip code, its code INSEE, like its possible membership of a inter-commune structure.

By surface

Same communes, classified by decreasing surface (the Hauts-de-Seine measure 175,61 km ² on the whole). The size Moyenne of the communes is 4,88 km ², while the median size is 3,64 km ², much lower than the intermediate size and median of common Frenchwomen (14,88 and 10,73 km ² respectively).

By population

Same communes, classified by decreasing population (the Hauts-de-Seine counted 1.428.881 inhabitants in 1999 on the whole, for one population density average of 8 163,7 hab. /km ², much higher than the national average). The population Moyenne of the communes is 39.691 inhabitants, while the median population is 33.937 inhabitants there, still much higher than the average and median population of the common Frenchwomen (1 542 and 380 inhabitants respectively).

In addition, Boulogne-Billancourt is the only commune of Île-de-France (put aside Paris) to count more than 100.000 inhabitants.

Town planning

According to the classification of INSEE, all the communes of the Hauts-de-Seine were included in the urban surface of Paris in 1999 and all were urban poles.
