Dr. DRE

Andre Romell Young , alias Dr. DRE , is a producer, Chanteur of Rap and American actor born the February 18th 1965 with Compton, suburbs of Los Angeles. It largely contributed to popularize the Gangsta rap and the Californian culture Hip hop in general.

Biography

Andre began his career as DJ within the group from Electro-Hip Hop The World Class Wreckin' Cru during the beginning of the Années 1980. Thereafter he becomes member of the sulfurous group NWA with Ice Cube, Eazy-E, MC Ren and DJ Yella by producing the majority of the pieces of which the discussed tubes “Fuck Tha Police” and “Straight Outta Compton”. In 1991, free DRE NWA, following a disagreement with the leader of the group, Eazy-E, to form the label Death Row Records with Suge Knight.

The first album of DRE, The Chronic leaves in 1992 on which for the first time some Snoop Doggy Dogg appears. This last belonged to the group 2-1-3 with Warren G (half-brother of DRE) and Nate Dogg, the cousin of Snoop. Thanks to individual “Nuthin' But has “G” Thang”, “Let Wrinkles Me” and “Fuck With DRE Day” (where DRE regulates its accounts with Eazy-E), the album becomes multi-platinum. The following year, DRE produced the first album of Snoop, heading Doggystyle , which met a planetary success. In 1996, DRE collaborated with regretted the 2Pac, him also of Death Row, to create the song “California Love” which met it also a great success. But the suspect death of 2Pac the September 13rd 1996 condemned the label, and DRE chooses to reform a new label Aftermath Entertainment by declaring that the era of the gangsta rap was completed. It leaves into 96, a compilation Dr. DRE Present… The Aftermath with many MC of its label; the album confirmed this tendency with in particular the title “Been There, Done That”.

In 1997, DRE unearthed during Rap Olympics a new talent of the rap in the person of Eminem which it made sign on its label. After having produced the first albums of Eminem, DRE left in 1999 its second personal album entitled 2001 . The album quickly became a reference with pure productions of DRE and the presence of artists recognized like Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit or Hittman. On the piece “Forgot Butt DRE”, DRE answers its detractors who said it finished by affirming that when an artist does not manage to sell his albums, it is DRE, the doctor that one advises to him.

And it is true that beside his own albums, Dr. DRE takes part in very many projects as a producer. Like he says it itself in one of his songs, one finds his prints everywhere on Signal 10. One indeed finds it behind many successes of famous artists like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Hundred, Busta Rhymes, Eve, Mary J. Blige, The Game or Above The Law or The Firm, which went a little less.

With regard to the continuation and the end of its career of rappor, DRE announced that it would leave a last album, entitled Detox , which, to the breaking news, should leave in January 2008.

At the time of Video MTV Music Awards 2007 in Las Vegas, Dr. DRE while entering on scene affirms " Detox is coming" . This advertisement was made at the sides of Marie J. Blige who paid to him homage for her career of rappor and producer.
