Dr.I albatross

The Albatross Dr.I and Dr.II are German experimental triplane hunters of the First World War.

Dr.I albatross

At the beginning of 1917 a complete fuselage of Albatross D.V, with wheels and empennage, accepted a triplane aerofoil for comparison tests with a standard apparatus. The formula did not bring anything and was quickly abandoned. Preserving the engine Mercedes D IIIa of 160 ch and the two weapons of D.V, this apparatus had a scale of 8,70 Mr.

Albatross Dr.II

On the fuselage of Albatros D.X was installed a triplane cell characterized by thick chechmates wing gap supporting of the wings strongly shifted forwards. The single prototype flew spring 1918, armed with two LMG 08/15.
