Doyle “Texas Dolly” Brunson is the one of the players of Poker to largest prize list. Respected of all, he is regarded as a true legend.
Doyle Brunson was born the August 10th 1933 with Longworth, a small town of the Texas. Very early, it takes the practice to run of long distances to go in the close cities, and becomes a promising athlete. He plays Basket-ball, belonged to the team of the All State Texas and runs the mile regularly. After having played at the Texas Interscholastic Track Meet in 1950, it is located by the Lakers of Mineapolis. A wound with the leg, during a work of summer, puts an end to its hope to become player of professional Basket-ball. Doyle Brunson, obliged to give up the sport, continues studies and obtains a Master' S dismantles in administrative education .
He played Poker already before his wound, at the time of parts of Draw (Poker closed) and found this play “weak”. After its wound, it starts to much more often play. The parts enable him to pay its expenditure during its studies until obtaining sound Master in 1954. The following year, it finds its first employment as a salesman of equipment of office. Doyle Brunson starts to play in illegal parts with Fort Worth (Texas) with his/her friend, Dwaine Hamilton. Quickly, they move in the Neighboring states (Louisiana, Oklahoma) to take part in greater parts and meet Amarillo Slim and Sailor Roberts, two professional players. Hamilton turns over to Fort Worth while Brunson, Slim and Roberts, travel, play poker and spend time to the Golf. They put all their joint money to play and at the end of 6 years, decide to make their first voyage to Las Vegas, where they will lose all (an amount with 6 digits). They thus decide to stop playing together while remaining friendly. Doyle Brunson settles definitively with Las Vegas and continues to play.
In 1976, he becomes world champion by gaining the final of WSOP ( World Series off Poker ) against Jesse Alto and repeats the following year against Gary Berland.
In 1979, it writes a book, Super System , considered since as the bible of the poker which influenced the manner of playing of several generations of players.
In 2004, it writes Super System 2. With race in power poker , a new version of sound Best-seller , updated and taking account of the evolution of the play.
In 2005, it becomes, with Johnny Chan, the player more titrated WSOP by gaining its tenth bracelet.
In 2006, it gives its name to a stage of the prestigious World Poker Turn .
