Dovecote-Saugnieu is a common French, located in the department of the the Rhone and the area the Rhone-Alps. The inhabitants of Dovecote-Saugnieu are " Colombards, Colombardes"

Geography

Located at the extreme south-eastern limit of the department of the Rhone, the commune consists of two Village S (Dovecote and Saugnieu) as well as several Hameau X (of which strange the Montcul, (and not Montcuq made famous for the sketch of Daniel Prévost in the emission the Small Rapporteur)).

The infrastructures of the commune of Dovecote-saugnieu are primarily concentrated in the villages of Dovecote, Saugnieu and the hamlet of Montcul.La totality of the trade is regroupré in the two villages, the hamlet of Montcul includes/understands him to it school complex Jules Ferry, a room polyvente (from the Dauphine one) which is the seat many sports associations, large residential districts and some farms still in activity. History

It was attached to the department of the the Rhone on April 1st 1971. Previously, it belonged to the Isere.

The old woman tower of the old castle of Dovecote evoked in the battle of Anthon June 11th, 1430.

The Aéroport Lyon-Saint-Exupéry is located on the commune of Dovecote-Saugnieu.

Sport

There is ten sports association in the commune (football, table tennis, tennis, martial arts, dance, gymnastics, musculation, basketball), for the majority established in the room general-purpose Dauphinoise.De many tournaments sporting are organized by these different association throughout the year.

Worship

It there two Catholic churches in the commune. One is in Saugnieu, the other in Colombier.Il also has there in Colombier, near the church, a religious house located in a large wooded park.
