Dour Festival

The Dour Festival is a being held festival of various musics each summer in the small town of Dour (env.17.000 inhabitants) in Belgium. It is opened with all the kinds: pop, House, Punk, Hardcore, Rock'n'roll, Post-rock'n'roll, Hip-hop, metal, Indus, Drum' low, Electro, R&B, Reggae, Ska, Noise, Indie Rock'n'roll or Techno. It is more than 240 groups and DJ' S which occurs on one of these six scenes.

The summer, Belgium becomes the land of welcome of many festivals. Dour Festival will be held once again on the site of the Machine with Fire, very close to the French border. Complete for the first time in 2005 with a frequentation record of 128.000 people over the four days. In 2006,134 000 people went there. The edition 2007 was the first to be been held with closed counters; indeed, the 144.000 tickets were already sold before the opening of the doors. Dour is the leader of the festivals in the French Community of Belgium. The most innovative tendencies of the musical culture are explored. The search for new groups, of new sounds, is omnipresent.

Dour, it is a festival of alternative music, independent and based above all on the discovery, the tolerance and the pleasure of the festival. Six scenes are distributed on the site (2 in the open air and 4 capitals), with sonorities and aspects suitable for each one of enters. Those become animated each morning as of 11:00, up to 5 a.m. at dawn.
