Douglas Sirk
Hans Detlef Sierck alias Douglas Sirk is a realizer and scenario writer of cinema born in Germany but installed with Hollywood as of the Thirties (April 26th 1897 Hamburg, Germany - January 14th 1987 Lugano, Suisse). He was also director with the Théâtre.
Its first films carried out in Germany are signed Detlef Sierck .

The melodramas of Douglas Sirk are based mainly on the antitheses to underline pathetic situations. Douglas Sirk opposes the hypocritical city to the natural countryside, the individual at the company, the men with the women, the White against the Blacks, the rich person with the poor.
