Doug Gilmour
Évrard (or Eberhard ), born towards 820 died in 866, was marquis of the Friuli. He is the son of the count of Ternois Unroch resulting from the family of the Unrochides, and of Engeltrude.
He manages to push back an invasion of Slavic and the king Lothaire I {{er}} gives him in reward the walk of the Friuli. It defended its duchy against the invasions of Slavic and did of them one of the most important strongholds of Italy.
He marries towards 836 Gisele (Gisela) († 874), girl of the emperor Louis the Piles. In 836, Louis the Piles gives the royal field of Annapes to his Gisele daughter. Évrard and Gisele found the abbey of Cysoing, close to Lille. With Gisele it had the 10 following children:
- Évrard (837 - † after June 20th 840).
- Ingeltrude of the Friuli (v. 836 - † 867) wife Henri of Walk (830 - 886), marquis of Neustrie
- Unroch III of the Friuli (v. 840 - 874) husband of Eve de Tours.
- Berenger Ier of the Friuli (v. 843 - † 924) husband of Berthe de Spolète, elected official king of the Lombards to Pavia in 888, and Germanic Roman Emperor in 915.
- Adahard († after July 1st 874). Abbot of Cysoing.
- Raoul († May 1st 892). Laic abbot of the abbey of Cysoing and the Saint-Vaast abbey of Arras. In 883 the king Carloman II of France gave him the Artois and Ternois which were seized with its death by the count Baudouin II of Flanders.
- Alpais, dead young and buried with the Abbey of Cysoing.
- Heilwide of the Friuli (v. 855 - v. 895) perhaps which married towards 874 Huchald (Hucbald) of Ostrevant (850 - 890) then Roger I {{er}} (v. 867 - † 926) count de Laon
- Gisele († v. 863). Nun with the Saint-Saver Abbey of Brescia.
- Judith of the Friuli (863 - † 881) which married Conrad II of Burgundy, count d' Auxerre and duke of Burgundy Transjurane of 859 with 864.
