Doug Carpenter
Doug Carpenter (born on July 1st 1942 with Cornwall in the Ontario) is a former trainer of Hockey in North America.
Career
Career of player
Carpenter was also a defender of hockey to beginning of the year 60. It makes its beginnings in 1961 - 62 in the Association of hockey of Ontario - today Ontario Hockey League - with the frankness affiliated with the Canadian from Montreal of the National league of hockey: Canadian Juniors of Montreal.There remains only one season in the team and joined the Eastern Hockey League in 1964 while playing for the Generals de Greensboro. He plays in the team until 1971, season when he joined the international Ligue of hockey and the Generals de Flint. He takes his retirement at the end of three seasons but remains in the world of hockey while becoming trainer of Generals.
Career of trainer
Thus of 1974 to 1978 he is the trainer of the team of Generals but in 1979-80 after one season of inactivity, he joined the Ligue of hockey major junior of Quebec and the Royals de Cornwall. The year according to it makes its beginnings in the American Ligue of hockey for the Hawks de New Brunswick then for the Saints of Saint Catharines before making its beginnings behind a bench of the LNH.
In 1984-85, it has to replace Tom McVie after the Devils of the New Jersey made one year catastrophic. It takes the direction of Devils until in 1986-87, where it is replaced at the end of fifty matches by Jim Schoenfeld.
The year according to, it joined the Citadels de Halifax for one season before being called behind the bench of the Maple Leafs of Toronto for two seasons. It puts an end to its career in 1992-93 after having once again involved the Citadels as well as the Nighthawks de New Haven in 1991-92. This year there, it receives the Trophée Louis A.R. Pieri as a better trainer of the season.
