Double
Sosie is the name of a Esclave in the part Amphitryon written by the Latin Dramaturge Plaute towards 187 av. J.C. In the intrigue, the god Mercure takes the Apparence of Double, which is the origin of the Common noun which indicates a Nobody having the perfect resemblance of another (more particularly the Visage): a double .
Sosie is also a character of the part of Molière Amphitryon where he is also a servant of King Amphitryon, charged by this last to warn the Alcmène Queen of her imminent return of the war. But Zeus has sights on the pretty Queen and takes the appearance of the King to mislead it and enjoy its favors in love. To prevent Double from disturbing the loves of Zeus, the god Hermes takes the appearance of Double and prevents it by the force from entering the house. Molière thus plays with a double misunderstanding: Double and Hermes have same appearance just as Amphitryon and Zeus.
