Double-not

With the Basket-ball, the double-not indicates a particular technique of realization of basket, carried out in full race, after a series of two steps without Dribble (from where the name of this technique) which places the player in position to jump near the basket at the time to draw.

The doubleone is generally carried out with only one hand (generally, the same hand as the side of the ground by which the player arrives at the basket), which differentiates it from the Tir in extension ( jump shot ). The other hand can be used to protect the ball from a possible against. The ball can also be carried to two hands until the moment to draw, to reduce the chances to be made it intercept.

The doubleone can be carried out while making rebound the ball against the panel (in English, layup ), or by directly releasing the ball in the arch ( laydown ).

It is a relatively sure means to mark a basket, on the condition of being able to approach the basket and to avoid counter them, the largest defenders being placed most of the time close to this one. A player who has a sufficient size and a relaxation will be able however to prefer the dunk with double-not.

He is the first shot taught in the schools of basketball because of his facility, it is the best means of marking baskets in championship minibasket.
