Day order of the general Bubble the October 25th 1916, thanking the troops which took again the Fort of Douaumont: “ Officers, warrant officers and soldiers of the Mangin grouping, in four hours, in a splendid attack, you removed from only one blow, with our powerful enemy, all the ground, roughcast obstacles and fortresses, the North-East of Verdun, which it had spent eight month to tear off you by scraps, at the price of keen efforts and considerable sacrifices. You added news and bright glories to those which cover the flags of Verdun. In the name of this army, I thank you. You deserved Fatherland well”.
