Dosimeter

A dosimeter is a Measuring instrument intended to measure the radioactive Dose or the equivalent of amount received by a person exposed to a Ionizing ray.

There exist two types of dosimeter: the passive dosimeter (or with reading differed) and the operational dosimeter (or electronics, or credit).
In the French regulation, the port of the dosimeter is obligatory for all the workers assigned to work under ionizing rays. In supervised Zone, only the passive dosimeter is obligatory In controlled Zone, the regulation requires the port of a passive dosimeter and an operational dosimeter. Nevertheless, legal measurement will be that of the passive dosimeter.

The passive dosimeter

This dosimeter with reading is differed and functions like a photographic film or according to the principle of the Thermoluminescence.

It is with immediate reading and generally corresponds, as its name indicates it to an operation. August 1st
