Dormans
Dormans is a common French, located in the department of the Marne and the area Champagne-Ardenne.
Its inhabitants is called the Dormanistes .
Geography
Dormans is located in the valley of the Marne at the border between the Marne and the Aisne, at approximately 30 km of Rheims and 25 km of Épernay, on RN3, near the exit Dormans of the highway A4. Dormans is served by a line the SNCF (see Gare of Dormans).

History

- Claude Nicolas Ledoux, Architect born in Dormans in 1736, died in Paris in 1806.
- Jean de Dormans, cardinal of Beauvais and Chancellor of France, which founded in 1370 with Paris, on the Montagne Holy-Genevieve, the Collège of Dormans-Beauvais where Cyrano of Bergerac made its studies.

Monuments
- the Mémorial of the battles of the Marne was built between 1921 and 1931, in the park of the castle of Dormans, to commemorate both battles of the Marne, of September 1914 and July 1918. The site was chosen by the Foch Marshal who declared it like " the synthétique' place from these two batailles".
