Doria-Pamphilj gallery
The Galerie Doria-Pamphilj is a private museum of Rome pertaining to the family Doria Pamphilj Landi.
The palate
The original building, located via del Corso goes back to the 16th century. It belongs at the origin with the cardinal Fazio Santoro, before passing to Della Rovere then, the beginning of the 17th century, the cardinal Pietro Aldobrandini. The palate forms then part of the dowry of Olimpia Aldobrandini.
In 1647, this one, widow of Paolo Borghèse, wife the prince Camillo Pamphilj, nephew of the pope Innocent X and brings the current palate to him, which until now fact always part of the Pamphilj inheritance. The palate is increased by a new wing, the “New apartment”, is located opposite the Roman College, with the site of the current palate. The plans are entrusted to the Architecte Antonio del Grande. At the 17th century, the palate will be renovated by Gabriele Valvassori.
The palate was designed almost since the beginning to allow the exposure of the collections the public. Thus, the current installation of the tables is almost entirely due Filippo Andrea V (19th century).

The heart of the collections is consisted of the Aldobrandini heritage, divided between Gianbattista Pamphilj and Gianbattista Borghese (this part of the heritage will feed the Galerie Borghèse), the two children of Olimpia Aldobrandini.
