Dorchester (New Brunswick, village)
Dorchester is a village of the Comté of Westmorland in the south-east of the New Brunswick to the Canada.
Demography
There were 1.119 inhabitants in 2006 against 1.179 in 1996, that is to say a fall of 5,1% in 10 years. In term of population, Dorchester is classified with the 59ème row of the province.
Administration
The Maire is Melvin Goodland and the city council men are Susan Carrier, Adam Phinney, LISA Marie Price and Robert J. Cokerton. Dorchester was the Chef-lieu Comté of Westmorland of its creation in 1784 until the abolition of the governments of county, in the Années 1960.
Economy
In spite of the expected problems involved in the site and the strong tides, the building work of a factory of artificial fertilizers with Dorchester Cape begins on October 31st, 1964. The factory goes bankrupt 3 years and 10 million dollars later.
