the Doors of eternity is a Anthologie of Science-fiction made up in 1990 under the direction of Jacques Goimard and which carries on the writer A.E. van Vogt (Canada). It contains a biographical test prefaces some, five science-fiction novels, postface and bibliography.

Science-fiction novels

The anthology gathers the five preceding novels in two cycles: Cycle of Ā and Cycle of the merchants of weapons.

Biographical test

Jacques Goimard wrote the biographical test of van Vogt contained in the foreword. During 54 pages, he discusses the literary beginnings, the moments of material changes, the bad patches, as of the various attempts that van Vogt made to surmount those. He explains why the work of van Vogt still influences the current science fiction.

Although Patrice Duvic also produced to him a biographical test of van Vogt in perfect Futur , it is another test with reading to have a historical prospect on the motivations behind the various books and the various news which van Vogt produced.

Postfaces

It is about a postface which appears in Le Monde of Ā and of another which appears in the Players of Ā .

The bibliography seems to contain all that van Vogt produced during its long career: New S and Romance S of Science fiction, Test S arts persons, news Fantastic S, news written in collaboration, etc It acts of an invaluable document for any serious amateur of van Vogt.
