Door-in-D
Door-in-D is a common French, located on the Ile de Ré in the department of the Charente-Maritime and the area Poitou-Charentes.
The inhabitants of Door-in-D are Portingalaises and Portingalais.
Geography
- Village on the Northern coast, at the Western end, of the Ile de Ré.
- Shores: sand beaches, large dunes, rocks.
- the commune of the Door-in-D has some of the most beautiful beaches of the island. Since a certain time this small paradise inspired some artists like Claude Nougaro (the Ile de Ré) or Charles Aznavour (Case Lines).
Between forests, beaches and marsh, the small village of the Doors offers a beautiful reward to those which can tame it.

History
Does name of the wood of Case line (legends?)In 1627, Toiras pursueing the English troops of the duke of Buckingham, those re-embark in Loix and leave trusting of Ars while passing to broad from - known as wood. Rétais (and rétaises?) , happy of this departure, troussèrent their shirts and showed their derrières with the enemy.

Door-in-D attracted and attract many personalities:- Claude Nougaro came regularly in its family home. It composed the Ile de Ré, a song which plunges us in the colors, the odors, the melancholy of the island in September.
- Charles Aznavour was also allured by the Doors and he wrote a song which bears the name of a famous wood located on the territory of the commune called " Chemise" case;. This song tells a spade screws with an young girl in the wood of " Chemise" case; , spade screws which degenerates somewhat…
- Jean Monnet, the " Father of Europe" , the Fifties until its death spent there its summer holidays in greatest discretion.
