Doona is an association law 1901. It in particular set up Doona.fr, the first search engine with humane goal on Internet, like ActuDuCoeur.org, a gate of free diffusion of humane current events.

The Doona.fr search engine

Concept

Doona is an search engine similar to Google (and Exalead, partner which lends their technology to them), except that the money obtained of publicities present is not allocated to the creators of the search engine, but is re-used in humane causes: Gifts with other associations or organization of caritative demonstrations suitable for Doona.

Origins

Doona is before a a whole insane idea of its founder and chair Nicolas DESMARETS. Desire for creating a more cordial Net, it wanted to find an Internet site which can speak with all the Net surfers (small and large, beginners and tested…), which at any moment does not require a presence and which can involve incomes raised for the humanitarian, that is to say a maximum of posted pages. It of the search engine because which Net surfer thought very quickly forever be on Google? Moreover, at the time of a research, the Net surfer is not satisfied to visit only one page, which makes it possible to deduct more pages. And which be forever to cloud there? Moreover, to see the astronomical incomes of Google can only justify this action because ten-thousandths (or even even less) could be of a considerable utility to the humanitarian.

Objectives

The objective of Doona is not to want to make run Google (what is an impossible idea) nor to compete with their partner Exalead, it is simply to give a possibility to the Net surfers eager to give in a new way. Because the other search engines proved reliable and can prove more powerful than Doona certainly; it is their trade and they do it well. The leaders of association think simply that it is not necessary that there is a too important monopoly of the large majors but to create a diversity of the sites on Internet; they are in favor of the Internet of the heart, while hoping well to launch the movement with their Doona association because in their eyes, until today, Internet was only a melting pot of personal enrichments…

Functionalities

Doona association develops little by little new functionalities for its search engine but the Net surfer finds as of now Internationale research or French-speaking, a module of advanced research, the possibility of seeking regular expressions, the posting of the captures of screen of a Web site… The results of research being based on Exalead, they are increasingly relevant.

Or the money goes?

The money harvest goes to various humanitarian associations registered on Doona (Small Princes, the Sheaf, Emmaus, WWF, etc…). Each month when Doona association has the means of making a gift, it organizes a vote on its Doona.fr site so that the Net surfers choose the recipient of the gift Doona of the month. At the end of the month, humanitarian association entering the most votes receives the gift and is put out-vote lasting three new consecutive votes to help with the bearing of the gifts. Any Net surfer can vote for his favorite association.

Origins

In the objective to always make known the humanitarian on the Net, Doona association decided to launch ActuDuCoeur.org, a site allowing associations, companies or private individuals to diffuse their humane topicality free and with the Net surfers of the lira also free and without any inscription.

Objectives

As for the search engine, the primary goal is to make return the humanitarian on the Net and once again allow the Net surfer " dooner without dépenser" because a small publicity is present on ActuDuCoeur.org and remunerates association Doona (bottom redistributed with the associations registered on Doona and chosen by the Net surfers).
