Donald Tsang

Donald Tsang Yam Kuen (曾蔭權 in Chinese, born the October 7th 1944), is a politician hong-kongais. Former secretary as a chief for the administration of the special administrative Area (CLOSE-CROPPED) of HongKong in Popular republic of China, it in chief of the executive since the June 21st 2005.

As secretary as a chief, it was used as chief of the executive by interim until May 25th, 2005, after resignation of Tung Chee-Hwa on March 12th, 2005.

Career

Graduate of the University Harvard (the United States) in 1982, he was civil servant in the British colonial administration since 1967, he was useful in the field of finances and the trade.

As an Assistant secretary of the branch “general functions” between 1985 and 1989, it were responsible for the execution for the “Joint Declaration sino-British” and promotion for the " ". The Government of HongKong granted the “large Medallion to him bauhinia” in June 2002. While he was Sécretaire of Finances, the public expenditure of HongKong ' S is jumped to the ceiling. The ratio of the public expenditure with the GDP reached 23%, among highest of the countries developed. In May 2001, it is named General secretary of the Administration: it becomes number 2 of the Executive power of the SHORT-NAP CLOTH at the side of the chief of the executive Tung Chee Hwa. He is also member of the Executive council of HongKong.

The March 12th 2005, the government of Beijing accepted the resignation of Tung Chee Hwa and named Donald Tsang chief of the executive by interim. It replaced at this station by Henry Tang the May 25th 2005.

Food safety

The discovery that 80% of the fish which come from the continental China and consumed in HongKong are contaminated by the “Vert malachite”, a substance prohibited in certain countries, forced many fish merchants to close. The administration of Tsang was criticized to have been too long to react. Following that, the rate of popularity of Tsang and its administration fell in the surveys.

For better controlling the extension risk of the influenza aviare H5N1 in HongKong one day, Tsang announces that the practice of sale of alive chickens would be replaced by a system of central demolition starting from 2009. A slaughter-house will be built with Sheung Shui.

Relations of with the “side-democrats”

The August 30th, 2005, Tsang announces that the provincial government of Guangdong invited all the 60 members of the Legislative council to visit Guangdong the from September 25th to 26th 25 September 2005. It is the first occasion for the majority of the pro-democrats like Martin Lee to visit the continental China since 1989.

Recently, Tsang announced the quality of report/ratio that it enjoyed with the various political parties.
