It was pilot in USAF, selected within the framework of the program Manned Orbital Laboratory , project of Space station inhabited usable with fine soldiers.

It was selected in the crew of support of Apollo 16.It carries out a single flight as specialist in mission, the April 4th 1983, on board the Space shuttle Challenger.
