Biography

Donaldson All Saints' day the Opening Byrd II (born on December 9th 1932) is a trumpet player American born with Detroit, Michigan. He played with Lionel Hampton before leaving the school; he receives several diplomas of music, and whereas he is still at the school of Manhattan, he replaces Clifford Brown near Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, then plays with very many jazzmen, of which John Coltrane, Sony Rollins, Herbie Hancock and Thelonious Monk.

In the years 1970, it moves away from the movement hardware-bop and turns to the Jazz fusion, the jazz-funk, the drunk person-jazz and the Rhythm and blues. It produces Black Byrd then, with Mizell Brothers; this album is a great success, just like the albums which followed with Mizell Brothers Places and Spaces , Steppin' Into Tomorrow and Street Lady .
