Attacked by a strong enemy patrol, Maurice Béranger, second lieutenant aviator with the flotilla of bombardment Br 29, found death above Dommiers on May 31st, 1918; it was old thirty-three years. Holder of the Military Cross 1914-1918 with four quotations, Maurice Béranger was made knight of the Légion of honor on a purely posthumous basis.
