Domitii
The Domitii or people Domitia constitute a plebeian family of Rome which provides a great number of consuls and magistrates to the republic. The two most known branches of this people are those of the Calvinus and the Ahenobarbus. The name of the latter, which means bores bronze or beard russet-red , came, according to Plutarque, from what the beard of a certain L. Domitius was suddenly changed black into russet-red.
