Dominique Mercy

Dominique Mercy is a Danseur French of Contemporary dance, member since 1974 of the company Tanztheater Wuppertal of Pina Bausch, and occasionally Chorégraphe.

Biography

Having received a formation of Ballet dancing, and after having worked with the the United States with choreographers of modern Dance, it meets in 1972, Pina Bausch which proposes to him to join its young company of Contemporary dance in Germany in 1974. It will become with Bausch the principal dancer of the company and sometimes the Co-creator of the parts of the choreographer. Considered for its technique out of the commun run and a thorough direction of the choreographic and theatrical expressivity, it became one of the contemporary dancers most famous. It received a Bessie Award in 2002 for its performance in Masurca Fogo .
