Dominique Dord

Dominique Dord , Politician French, born on September 1st 1959 with Chambéry (Savoy). He is currently the deputy and mayor of Aix-the-Baths.

Biography

Initially directing of products for L'Oreal, he then created his agency of communication then works near the president of the Area the Rhone-Alps Charles Million. Substitute for the deputy and mayor Gratien Ferrari as from 1993 in the First district of Savoy, it is then elected appointed on June 1st 1997, then re-elected the June 16th 2002, always against Thierry Repentin. After having been candidate with the Town hall of Chambéry in 1995, it is in 2001 elected mayor of Aix-the-Baths during triangular against the former mayors, André Grosjean and Gratien Ferrari. Former member of Liberal Democracy, near to Jean-Pierre Raffarin and Christine Boutin, it is part from now on of the group UMP. Its substitute is the general adviser and mayor of Albens Claude Giroud. Candidate for his own succession with the legislative elections of June 2007, it is re-elected appointed as of the first turn with a little more than 51% of the votes.

Dominique Dord is married and father of 4 girls.

Mayor of Aix-the-Baths

Elected official mayor of Aix the Baths in March 2001 in a typical location (it had vis-a-vis him, two former mayors, André Grosjean (UMP like him) and Gratien Ferrari (UDF)), Dominique Dord wished to make town of Aix-the-Baths the " headlight city of the department, the city of the pleasure and the relaxation " . Under its mandate the common one launched big operations of rehabilitation (installation of the downtown area, restoration of the Station, street of Geneva, enlarging of the Palate of the Congresses, support for the trade), as well as an operation ANRU on the districts of Lafin and of Sierroz.

But especially, Aix-the-Baths began more in a tourist vocation, with in particular the support for the festivals " Musilac" and of the " Nights romantiques" , the creation of one multiplexes cinematographic and the tourist promotion of the city.

Although the success of the Town of Aix-the-Baths like destination of tourism of summer or thermal was reinforced in a few years, its municipal opponents stress that the city was inserted thus in a monoactivity (the " tourism thermal" , phenomenon of mode to dubious perenniality), the detriment of other sectors (urban economic development and, schools, relaunching of traditional hydrotherapy…) and that hydrotherapy like the housing policy before are very turned to the top of range.

Standpoint on the PACS

During the debate on PACS in 1998, Mr. Dord made the following remarks: “My intervention is at the same time an answer to the commission and a recall with the Payment. I find deeply regrettable the perfectly arbitrary decision to reserve the whole of our amendments on a completely essential title, whose symbolic range does not have you escaped besides. We included/understood well the operation which consists in reducing the time of expression of the opposition.

In addition, it is not serious to answer us in a so concise way on subject at the same time such a significant and complex. The rapporteur, as it already did presently, claims that these amendments were contradictory, pretending to be unaware of that they are amendments of fold. Five points at least on this only article remained unanswered.

First of all, on the possible number of contractors. Two or more? You have boot touches some on the subject, as if solidarity could not be exerted beyond two people. Mrs. Guigou underlined the sectarian risk of drift so more than two people could conclude Pacs. It is well the proof that Pacs is not the good tool of expression of solidarity.

One of our amendments proposes that the contract is signed in front of notary. Here are which would be clear whereas for the time being, the Pacs appears a " potato chaude" that one refile of the town hall to the prefecture with the magistrates' court and why not tomorrow, to the direction of the veterinary services…” In front of the protests on the benches of the socialist group, the communist group and group RCV, it adds “I could have said the DDE”.
