Dominique Arot

Dominique Arot is a Bibliothécaire French born in 1950 with Orleans. He is currently preserving general and director of the Public library of Lille and chair Association of the librarians of France (ABF).

Career

After its formation with the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of librarians, it begins his career with the Public library of information (Bpi) which has just opened.

He works then in different departmental libraries from loan (Loiret, Creuse, Lot) before returning in Bpi.

Named with the Direction of the book and the reading of the ministry for the Culture, it occupies there the functions of chief of the department of the public reading. He was general secretary of the Superior council of the libraries of 1997 with 2002. In 2003, it took the direction of the public library of Lille.

Invested in the professional organizations, he is president of the group “Nord-Pas-de-Calais” of the Association of the librarians of France, from which he was elected national president on February 2nd, 2007.

Dominique Arot published many articles in scientific and professional matter.

He is also author and coordinator of works.
