Dominikus Zimmermann was a Germanic architect of expression Baroque, born with Wessobrunn in 1685 and died in 1766. Working often with the assistance of his brother the painter Johann Baptist Zimmermann, it in particular built the church of pilgrimage of Steinhausen of 1728 to 1735, one of the greatest goings beyond of estimate of the history of architecture (40  000 guilders for an initial estimate of 9  000), but regarded as the most beautiful church of village of the world . It carried out then the church of Günzburg (1736), the town hall of Landsberg amndt Lech (1719) and the Church of pilgrimage of Wies (1745), classified in the Liste of the world heritage of UNESCO.
