Domenico Quaglio the young person
Johann Dominicus Quaglio , of its true name Domenico Quaglio (Born with Munich, on January 1st, 1787; died on April 9th, 1837 with Hohenschwangau) was a major painter of architecture of the German Romantisme.
Quaglio is of the 11 children of the painter and the architect Giuseppe Quaglio. Its family, originating in Italy of North emigrated to enter to the service of prince Carl Theodor of Mannheim to Munich.
Quaglio was formed with the Gravure on copper and the Lithographie. it is with this technique that it represents medieval constructions. He was painter and decorator of theater at the court with Munich. He became later painter of court and member of the academy. For the account Kronprinz Maximilien, it supervised the rebuilding of the Château of Hohenschwangau since 1833. He died before his completion.
Its images treat especially buildings, places and streets of Munich before the transformations wanted by the king Louis Ier of Bavaria. Its works are always documentary with the typical style of German Romanisme.
January 28th, 1819 he had married Josepha Sedlmayr.
