Domenico Modugno
Domenico Modugno (Polignano has Mare, Province of Bari January 9th 1928 - Lampedusa August 6th 1994) is an Italian singer who made very popular of the melodies at the end of the the Fifties, of which famous the " Volare" ( Nel blu dipinto di blu ).
It is in 1958 that he triumphs with " Volare" with the Festival of Sanremo with Johnny Dorelli. This song which represents Italy with the Eurovision classifies 3rd and gains the following year a Grammy Award (only, for a long time for a Italian Chanson).
