Domenico Agostino Vandelli
Domenico Agostino Vandelli is a Italian Naturaliste , born the July 8th 1735 with Padoue and dead the June 27th 1816 with Lisbon.
It makes its studies with the Université of Padoue and very obtains its doctorate of medicine with a thesis entitled Dissertationes: of Aponi thermis, of nonnullis insectis terrestribus and zoophytis marinis, and of atque vermium terrae reproductione taenia canis . It makes appear, in 1761, a letter with Carl von Linné (1707-1778) on the Holothurie S. This one will dedicate to him in 1767 the Vandellia of Scrophulariaceae.
In 1765, it teaches the Chimie and the Natural history at the university of Coïmbre where it founds a Botanical garden. Vandelli makes appear in 1788 the Diccionario back termos technicos of historia natural extrahidos das will obras of Linnéo, COM has suo explicaçaõ as well as a Florae lusitanicae and brasiliensis specimen (Coïmbre). Always placed under the authority of Linné, it makes appear the following year Viridarium Grisley lusitanicum, Linnaeanis nominibus it (Lisbon). It becomes, in 1793, the first director of the Botanical garden of the Palate of Ajuda to Lisbon. ----
