Domart-on-the-Luce

Domart-on-the-Luce is a common French, located in the department of the Somme and the area Picardy.

Its inhabitants are called the Domédardiens .

Domart is crossed by the Luce.

History

Domart is located on the layout of old a Roman Voie connecting Amiens to Noyon. This Chaussée is called chaussee of Agrippa name of a general and Roman politician. It is a very old commune which at the time of the French revolution counted nearly 700 inhabitants and which one finds trace in the history, in the writings of 1105. The first Seigneur of known Domart goes up with 1154; it named Ibert or Aubert. Its castle, now disappeared, lodged towards the end of the XVIIIe century the Seigneurs of Domart, as well as the princes of Savoy.

The village (like Berteaucourt-lès-Thennes and Thennes) barrel practically destroyed at the time of the First World War.
