Description

The Doma Vaquera is an equestrian discipline recognized by the French federation of horsemanship. It is resulting from the work of the Vaqueros, guard of the herds of fighting bulls in Spain. She was born at the 18th century and comes from Andalusia.

Doma Vaquera is practiced with all the races of Chevaux but the most used are the Pure Spanish race, the English Pur-sang and the Arab Pur-sang. On the other hand, the clothing of the rider, the harnessing and the grooming of the horse must respect the Andalusian tradition. The presentation intervenes indeed the notes of the judges.

This equestrian discipline requires a specific saddle.

Competition

The couples unroll specific recoveries emphasizing the tender of the horse and its raising. The resumption of the " horses dressés" is the resumption headlight of this discipline and requires the good realization of more than 20 figures of Doma Vaquera.

In France the national championship has taken place for 3 years in the career of the city of the horse with Tarascon. In 2007, Olivier Boutaud and his horse 11 year old Figaro of the Liking (AQPS) gain the title.
